Part II
There are two processes that are necessary in order that we might each reclaim our full soul power. The first ls the reclamation of our wisdom lineages and the recognition of our shared indigenous human roots.
The reclamation of what has been forgotten, forsaken and destroyed by the machine of our current civilization brings us naturally towards our indigenous remembrance. Through this remembrance we come into ever deepening spiritual alignment with the natural world from which we each directly spring. Moving back into this most fundamental alignment, we begin to allow for the profound wisdom inherent in the natural world to guide our way, once again.
The second aspect of this reclamation process is the movement to transmute our lineages of trauma and suffering, in order that we might turn this experience into the pure luminosity of our soul being. This profound soul recovery cannot occur until we acknowledge, and bear witness to the fragmentation and wounded-ness that we each live with through our matrilineal and patrilineal heritage.
Most of us are suspended within our ancestral trauma through varying degrees of fight / flight / freeze / fawn. Within these bodily states, the system is unable to move into another state of being and psychosomatic experience, because on a fundamental level, the body has not resolved the trauma that it has endured. The body - indeed - keeps the score, from pre-birth, and I would say even from beyond. On a somatic level, the newborn baby remembers the womb experience, and possesses full sentience inside of the mother.
The land of symbol, archetype and visionary experience is the language of the soul. The soul speaks to us through sensation, feeling, and intuition - which then form and more deeply reveal themselves through our mythological, dream, and visionary life. Indeed, bodily feeling and sensation is the doorway through which intuition speaks.
The tingling of the skin, the gut response, the feeling in the heart when something is not quite right - this is the soul speaking to us in the most simple of ways through the incredible instrument of the human body.
This is what our bodies were created to be - instruments and conduits of the divine.
Through severing ourselves from our embodied life, we have cut ourselves off from the life of the soul and the unfolding ancestral mythologies which are waiting to be seen, heard, and felt inside of each of us. This is why our deep connection into this profound bodily instrument is a key to our soul life.
Without such connection - our wisdom is wildly truncated.
What further complicates this is the toxic food, water, earth and air that we are often surrounded by. This toxicity then leads to increased disconnection from bodily wisdom, as the systems of the body can no longer function optimally through such poisonous over- load.
Because of this toxicity, as well as the suspended states of ancestral trauma that most are living within, many are simply no longer able to feel or to respond to sensory and intuitive messages given by the soul through the body. Gentle and continual cleansing of the body on a physical level is absolutely necessary for every human being in our current era so that one begins to reopen the pathways and allow the soul to speak once again through it’s divine instrument.
One of the most profound ways to move out of these suspended states of trauma and begin to reconnect to this soul language is through somatic practices. Gentle, harmonic, exploratory and rhythmic movement with an attention to moment to moment sensation and easeful awareness in the body is a key in recalibrating the nervous and endocrine systems. For this suspended state of trauma manifesting through fight / flight / freeze / fawn becomes the biological prism through which we experience all life.
This biological prism corresponds to the mythologies and stories we have unconsciously attached ourselves to. When this prism is not continually recalibrated and allowed to expand - the life of the body and soul are imprisoned in an ongoing feedback loop of our personal and ancestral trauma response, without resolution, and without end.
By listening to the ancestral stories and mythologies past down through generations, one can become outwardly acquainted with the root system from which one springs.
But the individual process of soul reclamation and remembrance truly begins when we have the courage to be present within our own skin, viscera, muscle and bones, unearthing the felt mythologies and legends of the soul family tree. This gives the opportunity for the body to reset itself on a somatic level.
Transmutation of this trauma occurs through embodied somatic recalibration, love and deep compassion - along side the courage to experience and release the emotion and feeling associated with the trauma response. Without allowing the feeling to be somatically processed and resolved within the body, transmutation is not possible.
The soul cannot alchemize that which we do not allow ourselves to see, feel, and sense.
These ancestral mythologies are waiting to be felt within the terrain of the sacred body. Each of us will find unique resonances within these family archetypes and stories, which play out through the psycho/spiritual dynamics of our lives. We can then work with these archetypes and mythologies - consciously recasting the stories and reimagining our own hero’s journey through embodied meditations, movement, creative, dream, and visionary journeywork. These are powerful tools to reimagine the heroes journey. These practices, along with rite-of-passage ceremonial experiences have the power to reset the trajectory of the life of the soul, and realign ourselves with our spirit form.
One last tool I have found extremely helpful and powerful in the process of soul remembrance and reclamation is the simple practice of the calling of soul / vital force back into the physical body. Through traumatic experiences - including our lineages of trauma passed down for generations, parts of the soul often fragment off and then leave the physical body. This fragmentation contributes to the lack of ability to sense and feel deeply within our somatic life. This cuts us further off from our intuitive somatic wisdom. The simple practice of calling all soul force back into the physical body on a daily basis is a profound tool in regaining one’s vital life force.
This practice is deeply empowering.
As human beings, each of us possesses the elements necessary to begin these alchemical processes.
Each of us has the ability to begin to remember where we emanate from, and the trajectory of our unique soul path.
The process of sacred recalibration and reclamation is slow and weaving, mysterious and miraculous.
It is also our birthright.
Indeed, it is the greatest life’s work which we might each undertake. Through this great work of self liberation, we also move to liberate our ancestors, and our children both at the very same time.
Through such profound reclamation and abiding alignment with spirit, we unfold our deepest destiny, and shine the light of soul back into a world that has entirely lost its way.
We become the very one’s who we have been waiting for.
May it be so!
